Most important of all, your sponsored child will hear about Jesus Christ and be encouraged to develop a lifelong relationship with God.
~Compassion also allows you to send letters back and forth with your sponsor child! It's a great way to get to know them, encourage them, and let them know how much their Savior loves them!~
Why sponsor?
Sponsorship is a beautiful gift, both to the child and the sponsor. For me, it has been the most humbling experience, and I am so thankful for my lifelong sisters in Christ Gloria and Maria.
Sponsorship can change a child's life forever, and give them opportuinites they otherwise would not have if it weren't for their sponsor's generosity and love. More importantly, it gives the child the opportunity to get to know how much their Heavenly Father adores them!
My advice to those considering sponsoring would be to pray, consider your motives, and be open to God's plan.
"In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" Acts 20:35
