In 8th grade, I discovered my passion to serve and be part of something bigger than just myself. Christ has been radically transforming my heart to realize that He has blessed me so that I may be a blessing to others. I am so thankful for the countless doors He has opened for me in order to bring glory to His name! I am also so grateful to everyone who has bought my scarves, prayed for this ministry and Gloria and Maria, and been a part of this in any way!

Scarves for Service

Scarves for Service was created in December of 2011. The Lord planted the idea in my heart to start making infinity scarves to sell in order to raise money to send kids to camp. I've gone to Hume Lake Christian Camps since I was in 3rd grade, and it hit me that some kids can't afford to go to camp. Until then, I had never realized how truly blessed I was to be able to attend, and I wanted to do something for kids who may not otherwise have the opportunity I do.

In March of 2012, I knitted 50 scarves to sell at my first sale and donated the funds to Hume's send a kid to camp program. Afterwards, I continued to knit scarves, and I sold them for the second time in November of 2012. This time around, I decided to save the money to help fund my first upcoming mission trip to Phnom Penh, Cambodia in December of 2012.

October of 2013, I had my third sale and sold about 70 scarves. The Lord opened my heart to the gift of sponsorship and after months of prayer, lead me to start sponsoring two precious girls in Latin Ameria. The proceeds of this sale went directly towards sponsoring my two Compassion International sisters; 16 year-old Gloria in Colombia, and 15 year-old Maria in Honduras. Most recently in November of 2014, I had my fourth sale and sold over 70 scarves, and the Lord provided almost exactly enough for the girl's sponsorship fees for a whole year!

I decided to put S4S towards sponsorship because I feel that I should raise my own money to support myself in missions through babysitting, and rather use S4S as a direct opportunity to serve others instead of assisting myself. God has led me to use S4S funds in different, equally worthy ways, and I am so thankful for how continuously and graciously He provides!

I am blessed with all the support from my friends and family. God is continuing to open doors and open my eyes to His ever-present love and grace!
